PRIVACY INFORMATION REGARDING RELATIVE CONNECTIONS
Relative Connections recognizes the sensitivity of information that may be disclosed by Users in registering on our website and we are committed to protecting your privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website.
In addition to reviewing this Privacy Statement, please review the Relative Connections License Agreement and Terms and Conditions of Use (the Agreement) before registering for this website or participating in the Relative Connections project.
Overview
Content submitted by Users to the website for use in the Project may include information on the living. Stories, photos and other information submitted by Users may be seen by and shared with other Users. While we advise Users to be sensitive to privacy issues, we have no control over the content they submit. If such a submissions violates our Agreement, please notify us at info@relative-connections.com and we will work toward resolving the issue.
We ask for your name, email address, and other limited personal information when you sign up as a User. We do collect some data, always with your knowledge, that is used to enhance content. We do share information you submit to us (as described in our Agreement) with other Users when a connection is made. We will not share your email address with other Users or with unrelated third parties except in rare cases set forth below or in case of possible violations of our Agreement or as may be required by law.
The primary use of your personal information (as distinct from User Content you submit; see the Agreement), other than directly in connection with the Project, is to efficiently provide you with personalized, relevant information. We will also use your registration information to let you know about new features or other offers of interest from us, including exhibitions of Relative Connections or its participating artists, and to address customer service needs and requests. We will not sell, rent or otherwise distribute the personal information you provide us to advertisers for their use.
Relative Connections will not disclose your personal information provided in connection with Project, except as described in this Privacy Statement or the Agreement or as may be required by law, or to protect the rights or property of Relative Connections. We will not, except as may be required by law, share with any other party your password information.
We do reserve the right to disclose aggregated user statistics, such as 45 percent of our Users are female or 10,000 Users indicate an interest in gardening in order to describe our Project, advertise the Project, and present it to other third parties.
Under protection of confidentiality agreements, we use third parties to help us provide services and manage our website and relationships with you. Our website is hosted by a third party. Third-party processors and providers will be given access only to that information needed to perform their support functions, and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.
If you click away from the Relative Connections website to visit the site of any third party, you may be asked for personal information. These third parties have their own privacy and data collection practices. We have no responsibility or liability for these independent policies. You should therefore review their privacy policies carefully if you have concerns about how your information may be used.
Relative Connections will send email to you for administrative purposes (such as informing you of changes or additions to this Agreement, account maintenance, notifying you of a connection, and the like) and for outreach purposes (such as notifying you about products, exhibitions, events related to the Project). You may opt out of outreach notification by replying to the email that was sent with the word unsubscribe (without the quotes) in the subject line.
Participation in the Project is at your discretion.
